Season of Light...

Hello.

I've made another Christmas card, but I've also made it an advent calendar--a way to do the countdown of the days in December until Christmas Day.

The daily date shows up in that punched-out circle window underneath 'December'.  The dates from 1 to 25 are arranged in a circle on a movable wheel.  You can rotate the wheel by moving that piece that shows up in that punched-out semi-circle at the right side.

I've made this into an easel card so you can put the advent calendar on display.

I'm not entirely too happy with this card.  It's too busy for my liking.  Bad choice is designer papers, I think.  DP's with simpler designs would have been better.  Oh well...

I am featuring one of the adorable Tildas from A Christmas Story Colletion 2012 from Magnolia.  She is called Tilda with Christmas Candle.  I have used my Letraset markers to colour the image--Promarkers and Pantone Trias. I've added some glitter around the candle flames.

The stamp for this and other adorable images are available from Magnolia-licious, Diana's on-line store.  Diana has a vast selection of both full-size and mini-size Magnolia images.  And...the new Nativity Collection 2012 are ready for pre-order.

Also, take a look at the selection of cutting dies from Memory Box, PoppyStamps, Magnolia, Marianne Design and Cheery Lynn Designs. Diana also gives fast excellent services and discounted prices, as well as in-store credit for every order.

Pink Macarons - Magnolia-licious October Challenge

Hello.  Happy Monday!

We're having our monthly blog hop earlier at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge Blog, so you can take advantage of the extra time--until the end of the month--to play along with us in our challenge.

In recognition of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our theme is 'Think Pink Treats'.

The Magnolia-licious DT wants to help promote awareness/early detection and share what this Pink Think Month is all about with ALL women! We also want to honor all of those women that have or are currently fighting this disease and show our support in the fight!!! To show our support the DT has planned our own "Think Pink" Celebration and we hope you can all join in. Each DT gal has created some Sweet-PINK treats and PINK packaging to match using those beautiful Magnolia images. You can find some Magnolia stamps that were created specifically for Pink Ribbon Awareness at Magnolia-licious HERE.

For more details on the blog hop/challenge, on how to join us and the prize being offered, please visit the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog HERE.

If you're already taking part in the blog hop, then you've arrived here from Sharon's blog.  Hang in there--you are almost done.  I am the last stop...phew!!  LOL.
If you wish to start at the beginning, here is a list of my DT teammates in blog-hop order:
Norma (you are here)

This is what I've made for our blog hop:  A Gift Box of Pink Macarons

And yes, I baked those macarons myself! Cool, eh?
I tasted my first macaron when I was vacationing through France a couple of years ago.  Ambrosia!  I didn't think it was something you can home-bake, but as you can see, it is possible!  There were a lot of googling on the internet, sorting through dozens of recipes, watching lots of video tutorials, reading all the tips and tricks in making them and going through numerous batches of failed macarons.  But I think I can make decent ones now!!!  Woo-hoo...

To personalized by gift box, I've made this label.  The writing on the label was computer-generated and the adorable image is of BakingTilda from the So Jolly & Under the Mistletoe Collection 2009.

The label is glued on top of the wrap-around for the box so that the box won't suddenly pop open and spill out all the macarons...LOL.

For the front of the box I am featuring a couple of images from Magnolia's Pink Collection 2008:   Pink Tilda with Heart and Pink Stitched Ribbon

A portion of the proceeds from this collection is donated to the Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.

Check out Magnolia-licious, Diana's on-line store for a large selection of both the full-size and mini Magnolia stamps.  Have a look also at the variety of cutting dies from Memory Box, PoppyStamps, Magnolia, Marianne Design and Cheery Lynn Designs. Diana gives excellent service, discounted prices and you get to earn in-store credit for every order.

This is the view of the front and side.

View of the back and side.

The box opens up to reveal 3 secret trays.

I have coloured this oh-so-adorable image of Tilda with a Mouse, Peanut for the front panel.  She is from Magnolia's Turning Leaves Collection 2012.  Colouring of the images for this project was done with markers--Letraset Promarkers and Letraset Pantone Trias.

On the back panel, there is another adorable Tilda image from the same collection, this one is called Tilda With Daisies and Mushrooms.

I have used a mini stamp this time for the top of the box.  This is Mini Rose Scent Tilda from the Sweet Crazy Love Collection 2012 - Mini.

All the Magnolia stamps I have used here are available from Magnolia-licious, Diana's on-line store.  She has a vast selection of both the full-size and mini stamps. Check out also the selections of cutting dies from Memory Box, PoppyStamps, Magnolia, Marianne Design and Cheery Lynn Designs.  Diana also gives excellent service, discounted prices and you earn in-store credit for every order to boot.

Halloween Treat - Magnolia-licious Highlites October Challenge

Hello. Happy October!

It's time for a new challenge at Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge BlogAngela is our hostess this October and she has chosen 'Halloween Project (no cards)' as the theme for our challenge.

I struggled in deciding what to make.  Finally decided to make Treat or Trick bags--well, they're treat bags really, no tricks in them...LOL.  With time running out though...yikes, I was able to make only 2 of them.

Here's a view from a different angle to show the sides of the treat bags and also of how I've similarly decorated the back of both bags.

One of the Magnolia images I am featuring is this Wizard Tilda--I call her the female Harry Potter...LOL.  She is from the Princes & Princesses Collection 2012.

And this is Sitting Witch Tilda (link is for the mini stamp), from the So Spooky Collection 2009.  OMG, I didn't realize that collection was that old.  This Tilda looks just as adorable as newer ones, don't you think?   I've used my markers to colour these images.

Check out Diana's on-line store, Magnolia-licious, as your source for your Magnolia stamps.  Diana has a vast colletion of other full-size as well as mini images.  You can expect excellent services and  discounted prices, as well as earning in-store credit on each order.
